Chargers Place Quarterbacks Kelley and Rubbert on Waivers

Share

The Chargers placed quarterbacks Mike Kelley and Ed Rubbert on waivers Wednesday.

Kelley started one game and played in three for the Chargers’ replacement team during the NFL players’ strike last fall.

Rubbert was the replacement team quarterback for the Washington Redskins. He was signed by the Chargers in April.

The moves leave the Chargers with four quarterbacks, the number they had intended to take into camp--Mark Malone, Mark Vlasic, Steve Fuller and Babe Laufenberg.
