There will be no Ku Klux Klan cable access show in Florida after all--for now. Storer Cable Communications’ operations manager for central Florida, Tony Pupo, rejected a proposal by the grand wizard of a regional Ku Klux Klan chapter to broadcast a biweekly series called “Florida Klan News.” Pupo said lawyers for Storer’s Altamonte Springs and Miami offices determined that while the Seminole County system’s franchise agreement requires government access to cable stations, it is not compelled to provide broadcast time for everyone on public access channels, Pupo said. Klan leader Tony Bastanzio said he “wasn’t really mad” at the rejection, but will consider taking legal action against Storer nonetheless.
