Going to Bat for ‘Bull’

Often the best film comedies derive their humor from reality. In response to last week’s criticism of “Bull Durham,” I’ll say this: I don’t recall ever seeing any shots of horribly explicit sexual scenes nor did Susan Sarandon expose her breasts.

As for the foul language, I’ve come to the conclusion that the majority of our so-called “degenerate culture” speaks in such a manner. To exclude four-letter words or any other nasty slurs, especially in the case of a traveling band of jocks, is unrealistic and borderline ridiculous.
