Superior Industries to Build Arkansas Plant

Superior Industries International announced that it will build a manufacturing facility in Rogers, Ark. The plant, to open in early 1989, will initially produce 1 million aluminum road wheels annually and is expected to generate more than $50 million in sales a year.

Superior is a Van Nuys-based company that manufactures wheels, seat belts and other automotive parts.

For the first quarter ended March 31, Superior earned $3 million, or 53 cents a share, on revenue of $46 million.

The Arkansas plant will be Superior's seventh manufacturing facility.
