Gregory S. Lawson and Steve Vernon have been appointed to newly created vice presidential posts at McDonnell Douglas Computer Systems in Irvine. Lawson becomes vice president, United States operations, while Vernon becomes vice president, United Kingdom operations. Lawson joined the company, then known as Microdata Corp., in 1976 as manager of manufacturing operations and systems. He became director of administration in 1982, vice president of U.S. manufacturing and material in 1983 and vice president of worldwide manufacturing in 1985. Vernon also joined the company in 1976 as head of engineering, United Kingdom. He was appointed to the company’s United Kingdom board of directors in 1980 and has held senior management positions since 1984. McDonnell Douglas Computer Systems, a member of McDonnell Douglas Information Systems Co., is a manufacturer of computer hardware and software information systems.
