Edith Slatkin, 74, a one-time model and Detroit socialite whose 1983 cosmetic surgery left her in a coma and resulted in a $2.7-million legal settlement. She was the wife of a prominent Detroit auto dealer and real estate management executive who sued her doctors and hospital after a surgical accident put her into the coma from which she never regained consciousness.
