Empty Commuter Plane Crashes, Killing Pilot

CENTREVILLE, Va. —
A twin-engine commuter plane with no passengers aboard crashed Wednesday on takeoff from Washington-Dulles International Airport and burst into flames, killing the pilot, the Federal Aviation Administration said. A spokesman for Fairways Corp., which owned the Twin Otter aircraft, said it was on a maintenance flight.
