Squibb Corp. said second-quarter earnings rose 20% to a record $114.1 million, compared to the year-ago quarter. Sales for the 1988 quarter were a record $644.6 million, a 21% increase. Princeton, N.J.-based Squibb said the earnings were led by a 33% increase in sales of a hypertension drug now approved for additional use in treating congestive heart failure.
