Taco Bell, the Irvine-based subsidiary of Pepsico, said it is about to become the first major Mexican-style food chain to enter the Japanese market. The fast-food chain will open a restaurant in Nagoya on July 25, with a second opening planned later this year in Tokyo. Taco Bell said it is looking for other sites and plans more restaurants in Japan. It joins a growing list of American companies in Japan, including McDonald’s Corp., Pepsico’s Kentucky Fried Chicken chain, Mister Donuts and Wendy’s International.
