Costa Mesa : Man Stabbed Outside Cafe; Companion Held
A Costa Mesa man was reported in stable condition Thursday after he was stabbed in the stomach outside a restaurant that he and a female companion had been asked to leave.
Police received a call about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday that a couple were arguing outside the Tres Amigos Restaurant on Harbor Boulevard. Restaurant employees had made them leave because of the arguing, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Dennis Cost said.
When officers arrived, they found that Leocadio Maas, 31, had been stabbed with a folding-blade knife.
Police searched the area and arrested Silvia Jimenez, 26, about a block away. Cost said she is Maas’ roommate.
She was booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. Bail has not been set.
Maas was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center.
