Local News in Brief : Man Must Clean Graffiti

Share

A man who pleaded guilty to scrawling “PLO” on a Jewish center in Venice was ordered to spend 100 hours cleaning up graffiti, prosecutors said Thursday.

Donald Girod, 53, of Redondo Beach, also was placed on two years’ probation by West Los Angeles Municipal Judge Stephen Leventhal.

Girod admitted one count of misdemeanor vandalism for the June 25 incident at the Pacific Jewish Center on Ocean Front Walk in Venice. A passer-by called police after seeing Girod scrawl “PLO,” an acronym for the Palestine Liberation Organization, on the outside front wall of the center with a felt-tip pen.
