The Navy has lifted a suspension against a Southland defense contractor that was barred from accepting new government contracts as a result of allegations that a subsidiary supplied the military with inferior or untested guidance parts for key weapons systems, company officials said Thursday.

Phillip Friedman, chairman and chief executive of the Genisco Technology Corp. of Rancho Dominguez, said the suspension--imposed April 25--was ordered after the Carson-area company and three executives of a Simi Valley subsidiary were indicted for supplying inferior parts for the High-Speed Anti-Radar Missile (HARM) and the Navy Underwater Systems.

“This should help morale,” Friedman said of the lifting of the suspension.

The former general manager of Genisco’s Transducer Products Division, Werner Brinkschulte, 50, pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court Monday to one count of conspiracy and three counts of submitting false statements that the HARM missile parts and the Navy components had been properly tested.
