The popularity of British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock has sunk to its lowest level since last year’s general election, according to a new public opinion survey. The results of the Gallup poll, published in the Daily Telegraph, show the ruling Conservatives with 41.5% support and the Labor Party with 39%. One month ago, the Labor Party garnered 43%, one percentage point ahead of the Conservatives. Since then, however, Kinnock’s personal popularity rating has slumped by six points to 32% amid party disputes and ridicule from the mainly Conservative press surrounding his recent tour of southern Africa. Kinnock was lampooned for losing his temper while he and his party were briefly detained by troops in Zimbabwe.
