Perry Enters Program to Treat Eating Disorder
Chicago Bears lineman William (the Refrigerator) Perry is suffering from an “eating disorder” and has entered a program to deal with the problem, the team announced.
Perry weighed about 375 pounds when the Bears held their mini-camp in May. Coach Mike Ditka ordered him to lose 50 pounds by the start of training camp, but he was unable to do so.
Coach Mike Ditka said he talked with Perry and weighed him a couple of weeks ago.
“He weighed 358,” Ditka said. “I know there is no way he could take it off. He made the decision himself. This was William’s decision.”
Ditka said he doesn’t know how long Perry will be out.
