Olympic Cycling Trials Start Today

More than 333 men and 168 women will continue their quest for the gold as the U.S. Olympic cycling trials begin today at Spokane, Wash. Cyclists will compete for three places on both the men’s and women’s Olympic road teams and four spots on the men’s Olympic time trial team.

After a national championship race, the top 100 men and top 80 women will advance to the Olympic selection races on the Comstock Circuit, a course similar to the one that will be used at Seoul. The trials conclude Aug. 4.
