California Amplifier Sales Up 32% As Profits Dip 13%

Share

California Amplifier reported a 32% increase in fiscal first-quarter sales but said its profit fell 13% from a year earlier.

The Camarillo maker of components for microwave communications systems said net income for the three months that ended May 31 dropped to $116,000, or 3 cents a share, from $133,000, or 4 cents a share, a year ago. Sales climbed to $2.33 million from $1.77 million.

California Amplifier President David R. Nichols said the sales gain reflected the company’s improved military business, but that costs related to the increased production “have put pressure on our profit margins.”
