Bishop Won’t ‘Promote’ Film

A top spokesman for the nation’s Roman Catholic bishops said today that Martin Scorsese’s film, “The Last Temptation of Christ” is “flawed both as theology and cinema.”

At the same time, however, Bishop Anthony Bosco of Greensburg, Pa., who heads the communications committee of the U.S. Catholic Conference, rejected the Protestant fundamentalist drive to force Universal to abandon the film.
