NWA Inc., parent of Northwest Airlines, reported second-quarter earnings of $28.4 million, down 44% from a year ago. The St. Paul, Minn., company said operating revenue rose 5% to $1.38 billion, while operating expenses were up 10% to $1.34 billion.
