Citadel Holding Corp.’s second-quarter earnings rose 30% to $7.8 million from a year ago. The Glendale-based parent of Fidelity Federal Savings & Loan Assn. said the quarter included gains on sales of Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. preferred stock, which increased earnings by about $1.5 million. Columbia Savings & Loan Assn. said second-quarter earnings rose to $27.1 million, up 9% from a year ago. Net interest income increased 25% to $54.5 million in the quarter, the Beverly Hills-based S&L; said.
