Avon Products Inc. reported a loss of $82.4 million for the second quarter, contrasted with earnings of $41.5 million a year ago. The New York-based company said the results reflect $25 million of operating losses through the estimated closing date at Foster Medical, a discontinued operation, and a previously announced $95-million estimated loss on the sale of Foster.
