Local News in Brief : Slain Man Identified
An armed man who was shot and killed by police after leading them on a chase through the halls of Childrens Hospital in Hollywood was identified by the coroner’s office Friday as Michael Charles Burke, 26, of North Hollywood.
Burke was fatally wounded by officers Monday in a corridor of the hospital after refusing to drop a gun he was wielding, according to authorities. Witnesses said the man had walked into the hospital demanding a CAT scan, a type of X-ray.
