Kindness

Seldom do we read about the decency of our fellow Americans. Only the ugly and bizarre usually get media attention.

I had an experience recently at a Fountain Valley shopping mall which helped to restore my faith in people. I developed car trouble. Two young fellows, one about 25, the other about 38, spent over an hour helping me with my car. They refused any renumeration for their kindness. I was reminded of the feeling I had 50 years ago when I came to America from Germany. All of us felt free to help and be helped by others. It was good to feel that again.
