Local News in Brief : 14-Year-Old Sentenced
A 14-year-old getaway driver in a robbery that led to the murder of an Inglewood police officer was sentenced Wednesday to the California Youth Authority.
Under the sentence imposed by Juvenile Court Judge Charles Scarlett, the youth, whose name was withheld because of his age, can be incarcerated at the CYA until age 25. He was convicted last month of first-degree murder and robbery in the slaying of Sgt. George Aguilar, 47, who was gunned down March 31 on a busy street while chasing a man suspected of robbing a courier and stealing his car.
