Nicaraguan Angler Swallows Minnow, Dies

MANAGUA, Nicaragua —
A Nicaraguan angler put a live minnow in his mouth while preparing to bait his hook with it and choked to death after the fish wriggled into his throat, police said Wednesday.
They said that Manuel Gomez Diaz, 63, who died of asphyxiation Monday, had been holding the fish clenched between his teeth while he tied a hook on his line.
