A man flashing a note that demanded money and threatened to kill the teller robbed a Pacific Beach savings and loan institution Saturday afternoon and escaped with $800, police said.

He is believed to be the same man who robbed the Wells Fargo bank in La Jolla last week.

San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said the man entered Home Federal Savings & Loan at 1000 Garnet Ave. at about 1 p.m. Saturday and handed a note to the teller that read, “Give me all your hundreds, fifties and bills or I’ll kill you now.”

The teller gave the man $800 and the thief escaped through a back door, Robinson said.

The thief is described as a Latino, in his mid-20s, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 185 pounds, with collar-length dark brown hair. He was wearing a faded blue T-shirt, Levi’s, white tennis shoes and sunglasses.
