A man who apparently had too much to drink spent nearly two hours early Saturday wedged in the chimney of his brother-in-law’s Bell Gardens house before firefighters could free him from his narrow prison, authorities said.

Rodolfo Mojaro’s relatives heard his cries about 3 a.m., after he apparently fell from the roof into the chimney. Mojaro, 31, became stuck about 7 feet into the chimney at the house in the 6000 block of East Fry St., police dispatcher Randy Davidson said.

Firefighters worked for two hours with jackhammers to free the man. Mojaro was treated for scrapes and bruises at Downey Community Hospital.
