Congratulations to the House Ethics Committee on its decision to appoint a loyal Chicago Democrat (Richard J. Phelen) to act as independent counsel in the investigation of allegations against House Speaker Jim Wright (Part I, July 27).
Sending the fox to guard the henhouse is the partisan thing to do. Why not just whitewash the “good ole boy” and save the taxpayers some money!
