Vista Shotgun Victim in Stable Condition
A man who was shot Monday in the chest with a shotgun in Vista was in stable condition Tuesday, officials said.
Juvenal Sanchez was shot by an unknown assailant in the 1300 block of Calera Street shortly after 4:30 p.m., a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Tuesday. Sanchez, believed to be in his 20s, was taken by Life Flight to Palomar Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition was upgraded from critical to stable Tuesday, said a hospital nursing supervisor.
Sheriff’s homicide investigators said they have not recovered a weapon and have no suspects in the shooting.
