Local News in Brief : Slow-Growth Measure

Share

Pasadena slow-growth proponents have released the first draft of a ballot measure that would put a cap on residential and commercial development. Pasadena Residents in Defense of our Environment hope to gather enough signatures to get the initiative on the ballot next March.

The initiative would allow a maximum of 10% more commercial square footage in the city and about 1,180 additional homes, apartments or condominiums.

A no-growth measure that would have set far stricter limits was soundly defeated by voters in June.
