Local News in Brief : Irvine : State Official to Talk on Water Supply, Needs

The state’s future water needs will be the subject of a talk today by David Kennedy, state director of the Department of Water Resources.

Kennedy is the author of “California Water: Looking to the Future,” which predicts that the state’s water supply is sufficient to meet all its needs. He will discuss the report and answer questions. He also will talk about the effects that continuing years of low rainfall could have on the state.

The meeting, at 10 a.m. at the Airporter Inn, 18700 MacArthur Blvd., is hosted by the Southern California Water Committee and is open to the public. For information, call 261-7466.
