The Federal Communications Commission is satisfied with US Sprint Communications Co.’s efforts to resolve billing complaints from its long-distance telephone customers, an FCC official said, adding that “the matter is closed.” The FCC had told US Sprint last month that the company faced sanctions unless it did a better job responding to billing complaints. The agency ordered US Sprint to explain its procedures to investigate complaints forwarded by the FCC and outline what steps it intended to take to speed resolution of the problems.
