Gap Inc.’s second-quarter profit fell 16% from last year to $11 million. Sales grew 21% to $264.3 million. The San Bruno, Calif., retailer credited the results to stronger sales despite a continued struggle with high costs for its merchandise and setbacks at its Banana Republic division.
