A broad band of low pressure above 18,000 feet will keep the Los Angeles Basin shrouded in clouds during the evening and early morning, but otherwise the weather this weekend will feature comfortable temperatures and hazy sunshine, forecasters said.

“Temperatures will range from highs in the upper 60s along the coast to the low 80s inland,” said Dave Beusterien, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

High temperatures in the deserts will be “a little below normal,” he added, with the northern deserts ranging from 90 to 100. The mercury in the southern deserts will top out between 100 and 110.

Mountains Pleasant

“Mountain areas will be very pleasant, with highs from the mid-70s to the mid-80s and lots of sunshine,” Beusterien said. “A lot of haze is trapped below a few thousand feet, and the mountains are above that.”

Boaters will find cloudy skies over the ocean, and the outer waters may remain cloudy, Beusterien said. Clouds over inner waters should burn off by the afternoon. Thursday’s Los Angeles Civic Center high reached 78 degrees, 6 degrees below the normal reading for the date.

San Francisco Bay-area weather will feature low clouds, patchy fog and local drizzle near the coast with clearing inland by midday. Highs will range from the 60s near the coast to the upper 70s inland.
