Water Shortage
A couple of months ago, I came to Southern California from the parched San Francisco Bay area on an extended assignment. And let me tell you that it’s a sight for sore eyes to see that landscaping thrives all over Los Angeles and Orange counties, fountains bubble away day and night, and water leaks are unattended for days on end by industry, homeowners and cities alike.
The water supply here must be from a never-ending source, and it’s created an enviable scene. But I must confess that I’ve become a tad irritated when my newly washed car gets splashed as I ford the numerous streams that run through the streets here. With such abundance, I just can’t understand why I have to make a special request for water in restaurants! What’ll they think of next? Any ideas?
