Jo Henderson; Stage and Film Actress

Jo Henderson, 54, a stage and film actress who was nominated for a Tony Award four years ago. Ms. Henderson appeared on Broadway and in many off-Broadway and regional playhouse productions, including one in La Jolla, Calif., shortly before her death. Her performance in 1976 as the widowed mother of four young daughters in “Ladyhouse Blues,” produced by the Phoenix Theater Company, won her an Obie Award. In 1984, she was nominated for a Tony as best featured actress in “Play Memory.” On screen, Ms. Henderson appeared in “Lianna,” a 1983 film by John Sayles. In Chinle, Ariz., in an automobile accident on Saturday.
