LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Jason Edwards thinks his team is playing championship-caliber baseball and, considering his previous experience, he should know what he’s talking about.
Edwards and five members of the Hart all-star team can move one step closer to their fifth national championship in seven years when Hart plays Lafayette tonight in a winners’-bracket game of the Colt World Series at Loeb Stadium.
The winner of the 6 p.m. contest advances to the championship game at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“We’re really confident right now,” said Edwards, who pitched three perfect innings in Hart’s 10-2 win over Maui, Hawaii, on Friday night.
“We’ve just got to hit the ball and make the plays and we’ll win this tournament going away.”
