In a move to draw money from Taiwan into the United States, Fred Sands Realtors said it has reached an agreement with United World Chinese Commercial Bank for the Taiwan bank to refer customers interested in investing in U.S. commercial and residential properties to the Los Angeles realtor.
“One of the objectives of the bank is to help their Chinese clients with their investments,” Fred Sands explained. Because relationships are important to Taiwan investors who like to do business through their banks, Sands said he decided to establish an overseas office with Taiwanese bank.
“There is a greater sense of trust” with clients in working with a bank, Sands said. “Most American companies come in and try to use the American approach, which is not comfortable to them.”
The one-year agreement, which is renewable, provides for the Taiwan bank to receive a small, undisclosed fee for its services.
