Miller Brewing Co. has become the first U.S. brewery to export beer to South Korea.
Thomas Waller, director of export sales, said Miller now sells its High Life and Lite beer in that country.
“Miller time already is in South Korea,” he said.
Waller said U.S. competitor Budweiser sells beer in South Korea, but it is brewed in that country. Miller also sells its beer in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The beer is brewed in Irwindale and is distributed by Korea Wine & Spirits Co., a subsidiary of Jinro Group in Seoul, the largest producer of alcoholic drinks in South Korea.
