Chicago White Sox first baseman Greg Walker was released late Saturday from a suburban hospital where doctors readjusted his medication, said Sharon Hann, hospital supervisor.

Walker was first hospitalized July 30 when he suffered a seizure during batting practice before a game against the Angels, and he suffered a second seizure July 31 at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Walker was released from the hospital Wednesday but was readmitted Friday when he suffered an involuntary twitch in his neck and head and required readjustment of the anti-inflammatory medication he had been taking, team officials said.

Doctors ruled out epilepsy as the cause of the July seizures and determined that Walker had cerebral vasculitis, an inflammation of the vessels in the brain, that may have been caused by a viral infection, officials said.

The White Sox said Friday they expect Walker to rejoin the team within two weeks.
