Gay rights activist Ed Buck said he was disappointed with his meeting with officials of Circle K Corp. regarding a suspended policy that would refuse medical insurance coverage to people with certain health problems. “Unfortunately, I was told that the details of the policy were not open to discussion at this time,” Buck said. Circle K officials announced Aug. 10 that they were reconsidering a controversial cost-cutting program that would deny health-care coverage to some employees with ailments related to drugs, alcohol or acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Buck, of Phoenix, said he would start organizing groups nationwide to support his efforts to get the proposal changed.
