Carnival Cruise Lines Inc. said it will buy the cruise business of Gotaas-Larsen Shipping Corp., including the world’s biggest liner, the Sovereign of the Seas, for $260 million. The acquisition will add nine ships to Miami-based Carnival’s present fleet of seven liners. It has three new liners on order at a cost of $600 million. The purchase is subject to federal approval and votes by the boards of both companies.
