No-Fault Initiative

Share

The insurance industry has announced that it plans to spend $43 million to pass its no-fault initiative. Outrageous! Industry spokesmen are telling us that they plan to overwhelm their opponents and the voters with a raw display of their financial power.

If they get their way, they will have a no-fault system for automobile insurance claims, which they can run anyway they choose, and the public and their policyholders will be a their mercy.

Spokesmen for the insurance companies have already said that they cannot promise that all of their policyholders will get any rate reduction under no-fault. This makes it very clear that what this initiative campaign is all about is very simple. The insurance companies want to make even more enormous profits, and they are willing to spend whatever it takes to pull off this disgusting power play. Policyholders who pay their premiums should tell their insurance companies that if they have so much loose cash in their vaults, they should reduce the cost of insurance now, instead of spending millions of dollars on television commercials trying to buy an election.
