For the first time in its 20-year history, the California Ballet has hired a professional fund-raiser, Gary A. Neiger, as its general manager. “My biggest challenge is to increase the level of community support,” said Neiger. “We want to get more corporations, more foundations and more individuals giving to the company. Once we have a stable financial base, then we can begin to make some plans for artistic growth.”
