Another S. Africa Restaurant Bombed
A bomb exploded outside a Wimpy hamburger restaurant Wednesday, causing minor damage but no injuries, police said.
Three other Wimpy restaurants have been bombed since 1986, including one on Tuesday in which 23 people were injured.
Police said the latest blast, in the farming and mining town of Standerton east of Johannesburg, was caused by a limpet mine placed in a travel bag. Officers were alerted by a passer-by and moved the bag away from the restaurant into the middle of a cordoned-off street before it exploded, police said.
Police have blamed the attacks, as well as other recent bombings, on the outlawed African National Congress guerrilla movement.
