Barring of Amnesty International From the Orange International Street Fair

We agree with the sentiments expressed in your article.

We have followed the unique, courageous work of Amnesty International for many years. The “prisoners of conscience” adopted or supported by the organization usually receive moral encouragement and at times less harsh treatment by the authorities due to the international attention and appeals. Occasionally, the international awareness and moral appeal lead to improved human rights in the respective country as a whole.

Denying the Amnesty International chapter in the city of Orange a booth at the Orange International Street Fair is a disservice to the local residents who would no doubt appreciate learning about this important international human rights endeavor.
