Monument for Los Angeles
It absolutely boggled my mind when I read the article regarding erecting a symbol of Los Angeles to be created as a monument above the freeway to the tune of $40 million approved by Mayor Bradley.
I absolutely don’t understand where our priorities are stuffed anymore. Why would anyone want to spend $40 million to erect a symbol, when there are so many more important things to do with that kind of money. Do you know what that amount of money could do to erect some low-cost housing for homeless people? To feed hungry people, to employ idle people. Let’s use the money to help clean up this horrible smog we must breathe all day long.
No, let’s create a symbol so that more and more people will want to come to this city and create more pollution, and more congestion and more traffic and more problems. When do we stop? When do we say, enough?
This has to be a joke! Right?
