Monument for Los Angeles
Pollution is threatening the quality of life in Los Angeles. The numbers of homeless people are increasing on our streets. The gang and drug problem blatantly stares us in the face. Shortages of manpower in our police force keep us from walking the streets and leaving our homes without fear. Thousands of people are dying of diseases for which there are no cures. However, the mayor’s office manages to scrape together $40-million for a monument over the freeway in airspace donated by Caltrans for a “Gateway to L.A.”
What a price to pay to stroke Mayor Bradley’s ego. I think his priorities are sadly out of order. How sad for all of us.
