Monument for Los Angeles
I have read The Times for many years and have often thought I should comment on articles I have read.
After reading the article about spending $40 million to erect a welcoming symbol, I was appalled as should everyone who lives in Los Angeles County.
Imagine what the American Cancer Society could do with $40 million. Imagine what AIDS research could do with $40 million.
Imagine what Los Angeles could do for the homeless.
Imagine what the county could do with $40 million to help young gang members to learn a trade. No wonder a lot of Americans do not believe in their city, state or federal governments.
