A dramatic planned escape in a helicopter by a convicted international spy was foiled by officials at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Fla. Warden R. E. Honsted said Werner Bruchhausen, 45, a West German, was captured on the prison grounds near a mysterious parked helicopter. Bruchhausen is serving a 15-year term in the medium-security facility for selling classified technical information to the Soviet Union and several Soviet-Bloc countries. Honsted refused to discuss details of the attempted escape, and declined to say where the parked helicopter came from.
