PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. —
Damage is estimated at $90,000 from a blaze that destroyed a Fire Department ambulance parked inside the station, the fire chief said Monday.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. The ambulance was built on the same Ford Motor Co. E-350 chassis that has been plagued by fires and explosions across the country. The chief said the ambulance had been recalled three times for repairs specified by Ford but a cause of the Saturday night fire had not been determined.
